What personal pre-requisites would be needed to become a franchisee for dash?
No previous experience in the food or hospitality industry or operating a business is necessary. dash are looking for goal oriented people, who are keen to meet new and exciting challenges.
Are there certain procedures and standards that I am required to abide by?
Yes. Like any franchise system, dash has standards in all aspects of operation including store layout, product preparation and display, staff maintenance, and weekly reporting.
Do you provide any financing support?
dash have established an agreement with two banking organizations that can offer financial support to prospective franchisees, using the business as a guarantee.
How do I find a lawyer that focuses on franchising?
There are several ways to find an appropriate lawyer. State Bar associations will identify specialty areas that lawyers practice. Law firms usually highlight their area of expertise in yellow pages advertising. Word of mouth is an effective method of finding the right lawyer, and friends or family may have a contact that they can recommend.
Should I consult with an outside source before entering into a franchise?
It is highly recommended that potential franchisees thoroughly investigate franchising through a lawyer, accountant, friends, or current franchisees. It is important that the operations of a franchise are clearly understood.
Is there room for growth? Can I operate more than one site?
dash believes in encouraging people to achieve beyond their limits. If your goal is to operate more than one dash outlet we will encourage and support you. Franchisees who choose to have multiple stores must first approach dash, and each case will be assessed individually. This is necessary to ensure that franchisees don’t get themselves into a financial position they are unable to sustain.
What if I already have a site in mind for a shop?
If a potential franchisee believes they have a viable site for a dash store we will be happy to look at the site with you. All final decisions regarding future sites will be made by dash Australia.
What time frame would I be looking at if I wish to open a shop ASAP?
Once the necessary paperwork has been completed and a site has been approved, the expected time frame until store opening would be approximately 8-12 weeks.
Where will I be trained?
Training for dash franchisees runs for 3 weeks. It comprises two weeks in store training, and one week ‘theory’ at a separate location. The location of your training will vary depending on your state or territory.
